13th - 17th Wyre Forest Dance Festival at the Stourport Civic Hall

This popular and well established event takes place annually during the February half term. Performers from local Midlands dance schools compete in a range of categories from Ballet solos to Cabaret groups, over 1000 entries are received for entry to the various categories.

Wyre Forest Dance Festival starts on Monday 13th February and finishes on Friday 17th February..

Spectators are invited to come and watch competitors at a charge of £3 per person for adults and £2 for children and senior Citizens.

Programmes will be  available from the Worcestershire Hubs at Kidderminster Town Hall, Stourport Civic Centre or Bewdley Cash Office and The Civic Box Office (open Saturday's 11am-1pm), from Mid January in the year of the festival.

This years adjudicator will be Claire Jennings, A British Federation and All England Adjudicator.

Experience the thundering and exhilarating rhythms of Taiko in a dynamic and engaging show, and gain a unique insight into the enthralling world of this ancient art. A powerful fusion of primal rhythm, choreographed movement and athleticism to captivate audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Members of the renowned Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers return to the roots of Taiko Drumming, performing traditional Taiko pieces from Japan and revealing the history and culture of this fascinating folk art in a lively and entertaining concert.

The show, which premiered at the Edinburgh Festival in 2003, has since developed into a popular touring production, taking the audience on an exciting, energetic & enjoyable journey that's not to be missed.
