Beyond the three major projects, the Restoration of Stourport Basins, the Revitalisation of Sandy Lane Industrial Estate and the production of the Stourport Pride Report, Stourport Forward has also contributed smaller grants to a range of projects to help improve Stourport for the local community.
Smaller grants (under £10,000) have been awarded to:-
- The Stourport Website (www.stourporttown.co.uk) has been transformed by Stourport Forward to promote, inform and celebrate the town for local people and tourists. The website averages above 1000 visitors per week. Funding from Stourport Forward and Stourport Town Council enabled production of 20,000 new promotional leaflets to be distributed through out the West Midlands region. An income generating business directory is being created.
- The creation of Manor Farm Multi Use Ball Park. This project was led by Community Housing Group in partnership with Community Action Newtown, the Police and the Youth Service and was completed October, 2005.
- During 2006 the Wyre Forest Wheels to Work Scheme (led by Worcestershire County Council) was created to provide affordable scooter hire to enable local people without access to transport within the Stourport area to take up employment and/or training. Four scooters have been reserved for Stourport residents.
- Stourport Farmers Markets (led by Stourport Forward, Wyre Forest District Council). Following several trial markets the weekly Tuesday market ended in June 2007.
- The Restoration of the Stourport Methodist Church Garden was completed in May 2006 and has created an attractive public garden (off the High Street) and facility for community events.
- Stourport Skateboard Park. (Wyre Forest District Council). A small grant was awarded to enhance the skateboard park which has just been completed by Wyre Forest District Council at Stourport Riverside Meadows.
- Stourport Forward Learning Opportunities Group. Through the work of this group (supported by local training providers and Wyre Forest Life Long Learning Network) three training courses were delivered at the Walshes Community Centre during February/ March 2007. - Stourport Regeneration Video. A video record of the regeneration programme and the projects within it is being compiled by Albert Mogg of A Mogg Video Productions
- The Stourport Forward Community Chest Scheme was created to enable groups and clubs to apply for small grants to help to fund the cost of community projects. The scheme provides grants of up to £500 to help local groups and projects that will benefit Stourport and the local community. Grants can provide 50% to 75% of the project costs but each group must fundraise or secure the match funding required to fund the remaining costs. The scheme has now closed
