Stourport Canal Basins Volunteer Programme
Guided Education Tours
Volunteer Task Description
Volunteers are required to carry out the guided education tours for school groups and interest groups. Volunteers will be required to guide groups of school children and interest groups around the basins. The tours will aim to educate young people about the historical importance of the site, point out interesting features and structures, highlight the importance of the canal basins and explain how boaters navigate around the canals.
Volunteer Person Specification
An enthusiasm for teaching young people is essential. The ability to project your voice clearly along with a reasonable level of confidence explaining facts to young people is also an important requirement. Local and historical knowledge of the site is not necessary as full training will be given into the history Stourport Canal Basins and its features.
Due to the nature of this task references may need to be provided.
