Stourport Canal Basins Volunteer Programme
Volunteer Basin Events Officer
Volunteer Task Description
Volunteers are required to assist with the events programme at Stourport Canal Basins and help the events organiser prepare, deliver and monitor activities at the canal basins. Duties may include; putting up signs, greeting actors, putting up posters, dressing up in character, handing out leaflets/flyers, giving prizes to children, making cups of tea, counting participants, helping children take part in arts activities, stewarding events and any other task which may crop up during the day to day running of an event. Guidance will be provided giving all volunteers the necessary skills and equipment required to carry out the task.
Volunteer Person Specification
A general enthusiasm for working with people is essential. No skills are required, however due to the nature of the task the ability to solve problems and run errands would be advantageous. The events take place around the canal basins site although volunteers may be required to walk around the town and surrounding areas on occasions.
Commitment Required
Events will take place during selected weeks / weekends throughout the year. We would welcome any volunteers wishing to help out for as little as an hour or as much as the whole day.
