Gardening
Volunteer Task Description
Volunteers are required to assist with the restoration of Stourport Canal Basins by planting shrubs and sewing meadow grass seeds. The task requires volunteers to plant shrubs at the base of the Tontine Garden area. Meadow grass seed requires planting in the Tontine Garden and a variety of picturesque locations around the canal basins. Volunteers will be required to work at ground level to carry out the garden work. Guidance will be provided giving all volunteers the necessary skills and equipment required to carry out the task.
Volunteer Person Specification
No skills are required, however due to the manual nature of the task volunteers are required to possess a reasonable level of physical ability. The work will be carried out at ground level with most work away from water however some patches may be close to the edge of the water. Life jackets and safety equipment can be provided if requested.
Commitment Required
The task will take place during selected weeks / weekends throughout the year. We would welcome any volunteers wishing to help out for as little as an hour or as much as the whole day.
